I made this clutch on Saturday morning. It would be great for Lolita cosplay, Steampunk, weddings, garden parties, Sunday brunch...
The clutch has a magnetic closure and two inside pockets. One pocket zippers closed.
I used a really nice textured sea-foam teal fabric with vintage off-white lace. The teal fabric was originally a square sample of special-order home decor fabric.
The inside lining fabric is a very light silver-grey satin (leftover from my Warcraft costume).
The bow is a detachable pin!

Steampunk LollyPop
For a Lolita Steampunk Cosplay, I wanted a Lolita prop. ~giggle~ a LOLLYPOP.
So let's see how to make a steampunk version of a lollypop.
Instead of getting the expensive steampunk gears at the craft store, I went to the original source, the Hardware Store! I went through the different buckets of bulk goods and picked up random pieces that I thuoght would look cool together, including a long screw to use as a handle.
Alcohol ink will dry to metal, and not rub off but it will if you spill a happy hour drink on it. It's just randomly dab it all over the metal pieces to give it an non uniformed colouring.
Than using industrial super glue I randomly arranged them into a lollypop shape.
The glue isn't ment for metal, so after many uses, some of the joints did get lose, so a little extra glue helped them stay put.

At Geek Girl Con 2012 Saturday
We went to Geek Girl Con today!
SmallRiniLady with another Captain America Crossplayer!
Doctor Who and the Tardis showed up, too!
We didn't get stuck in the Labyrinth...
SmallRiniLady snaped a photo with Rosie the Riveter
Oh Henson, how do we love your googly eyes on Red Fraggle
Family Love
Ok, not sure who she is (I have a feeling that Ava will be lecturing SmallRiniLady later), but she did an amazing job hand dying silk and inlaying mother of pearl into her accessories
"I solemnly swear that I am up to no good."
must save her from the Nothing ....

Costume Analysis - Candy Lolita
This Sweet Lolita I met at SakuraCon this year. Her outfit was themed with Candy elements. Some of these pieces she bought from Japanese Lolita Designers, while other pieces her friend hand made for her.
Let's explore
She accessorizes with Bubble Gum Machine earrings.
And a hand made (by her friend) bow. This bow looks like a shrink wrapped candy that you need to open up and explode out with tiny pebbles of M&Ms. Using bright and baby colors to keep with the Sweet Lolita look.
Another hair accessory brings cuteness through fluffy textures, heart shape, and miniatures.
Using cute confetti shapes of springs and polka dots to decorate her Lolita bow.
Like many lolita dresses, a corset lace up gives any lolita outfit an extra sexy touch.
Noticed her hair color is dyed pink to match this pink and white outfit?

MiniComi 2011
I"M SOOO SORRY for those who I promised to blog about this ages ago.
In Summer 2011 I did my first show. Mini Comi was a one day event where artist could get together to sell their anime related work at Univeristy of British Columbia in Vancouver, a mimic of Comiket in Tokyo Japan
I wanted to make a Wai Lolita outfit, which is a cross between a Lolita and Kimono. Of course my hair is crazy covered with a Lolita Headband and Cyberloxs as I was displaying the work I was sell.
Me, Hannah (Myth), and Evelyn Wong set up a booth together and called ourselfves the "Sample Wives" Just a random name that we thought was rather funny
Here's Hannah wearing some of her wings she was selling and eating a rice bowl for lunch.
an interesting take on Panty and Stocking Cosplay (actually probebly my favorite cosplay that day)
These two girls were holding the booth behind us. They bought lolita headdresses from me.
P-Chan from Ramna 1/2, she is way cute
Did an art trade with the girl in the booth next to me. We were both bored and it's a fun way to make a new friend. I drew her a picture with my Hina style. She had trouble drawing my hair cause it had too much stuff in it
Evelyn is wearing two pairs of Hannahs wings and they fell down. But I thought it actually looks like a cool fallen angel look.

Giant PINK Bow
I was working on some lolita outfits for me and a friend to dress up in. I made a dress with this pink material and made a matching bow with the extra material. It's HUGE, which helps make the person look all the more childish, hence the lolita look.

Winnie the Pooh Lolita Headband
Even though I enjoy making jewelry I'm personaly into wearing Hair Accessories. Don't know why not much for wearing the other stuff. I think it's cause I dont really like having my hair in my face so I've use to doing it up and wearing things to pull it back.
Anyways I think Japanese Lolita headbands are cute, I mean Kawaii

Here's a Winnie the Pooh one I made. Basically you can use any non-slippery fabric, so I picked this cotton Winnie the Pooh bring. Put some lacey trim around it, and topped it off with some extra ribbon bows.
The coloUr tones are pretty mild, they dont scream STARE @ ME. . . . well at least when i'm not wearing a bright blue wig.

Cosplay Week #5 - Ciel in a Reconstructed Dress, Ballgown to Lolita
So I have this weird habit of picking out cosplay ideas before even knowing who the character is. That's because I fall in love with the outfits, which leads me to go dig up the series.
So here I fell in love with this, later to find out it's actually a young boy playing detective and dressing up as a girl in desguise. LOL, but the manga was still pretty good so I continued my pursuit in making this outfit.
So I made this outfit for SakuraCon 2010. This picture was taken at University of Washington when all the Sakura blossoms were in bloom.
Can you see where I'm going? Can you Can you????
Smashing my two thoughts together and this is what we get. Yay for silly thoughts.
So I ripped up my dress.
You might have already seen this picture from my AkiCon post back in Nov. But I'm ready to show it off at SakuraCon this year. I'm still deciding if i want to bring back the black gloves or keep working with the cuffs.

The outfit consisted of boots, black glooves, a gown, giant hoop skirt that was dolled up to be a petticoat, choker, and hat (that covers one eye).
So another tidbit about me. I dont repeat outfits, well at least to the same convention. So I can't wear this for SakuraCon 2011.
Meanwhile in a completely separate train of thought in my head. There was this darling Princess Zelda who made her outfit into a Lolita style. Here outfit was absolutely darling (note i used that word twice to describe her cause she was truely darling).

So I ripped up my dress.
- I cut off the whole bottom off my dress and reused the ruffles.
- I pulled off the ruffles from my hoop skirt and sewed it onto a new petty skirt.
- Using the material that was cut away from my dress I made a new hat.
- Using the extra ruffles from the dress I made cuffs to wear instead of the black gloves

Gothic Lolita Dress (Frilly PettyCoat part 2)
Now it's time to take a deeper look into that Lolita outfit that was presented in the Frillllly Petticoat from earlier this week.
Front:
Puffed shoulders, and GIANT bow, how more Lolita can you get? Then there's the coloring, it's black. . . .

Back:
Woooo, laces give it that corset look. You might think I added this for its prettiness when in reality I didn't know how to make a dress a proper size and didn't have my subject matter, ~cough~ I mean my friend Hannah around to measure and stuff. Besides, I'm still a novice, self-taught sewer. So my tricky work around is to put in these ties which could tighten or loosen to fit whoever is wearing it. Think of it as a prettified elastic band.

Posed as a model should always be to show off clothing.

Frilllllllly Petticoat
This is a cute skirt that I made for a Lolita outfit. The bottom trim is 23ft long.
When you spin in circles it floats up; it's so cute.
I've used it many different ways: Just as a skirt, as a petticoat to puff up a victorian outfit, or as a petticoat that peaks out of a Lolita outfit.
Here's a picture of the original outfit that this was made for.

Materials: Fabric, zipper
