Baby Gift: Plush Lion
My cousin is preggy with her first child. YAY, so I wanted to make her a plush Beaver (since we're Canadian) but I failed. So my second choice was a lion.
I'm going with this simple design (because limbs start getting compliated and can look just not that great without much practice). I'm using fleece because it's a very forgiving fabric, and very soft. It can strech to give you curves without having to pattern out just for curved shapes.
Two humps for the front and back, with a cute mane. The mane was made by cutting a donut shape, and snipping frige off the outter edge. I'm also layering two donuts to give me depth.
I also wanted a little fluffy tail. Doesn't it look a bit like a candle.
I cut a strip of frige from the fabric, rolled it up, and sewed it to the end of a tail.
Using a Zig Zag stitch to attach the main and nose to the front side of the animal. It's pretty trendy to allow seams to be show, gives a very home made organic look. Instead of having a flat base, I made it curved to give it character. It's cuter when you hold it, but now I realized it's got trouble standing cause it wobbles.
I went through different button combinations to figure out which eyes looked good on the lion.
And of course it's got Paws ~giggle~

Stuffed Carrot
I was invited to a Super Hero Murder Mystery party for a friend's birthday. I was suppose to be some Rabbit super hero with a giant carrot. So I quickly sewed this stuff carrot. It's pretty cute. It's about a foot and half long.
Materials

How to?
1) Sew the two sides of a triange shape for the carrot root
2) sew several smaller versions of the green fabric for the leaves
3) stuff with filling
4) hand sewing the openings shut and together to hide the seams

Plush Dim Sum
I couldn't sleep one night so I pulled out a project that I bought stuff for but never started.
The dimsum stuffing I used circles of fleece to create a shape and stuffed more cotton in just as I would for a dumpling. Than I covered it with a large pink circle and sewed in the pleates.
I used some orange glass seed beads I had and "sprinkled" on the egg roe.
Ok I really sewed them on.
Whoops the picture is side ways
Look you can pick it up with chopsticks.
The dimsum basket I actually got at a Japanese Two Dollar store in Vancouver BC.

Cosplay Week #2 - Cosplaying Teddy Bear
Ever been without a cosplaying Partner? Why not make one? I've been known to dress up my teddy bears up in cosplay to go with me to anime conventions. If you remeber ba my Lock, Shock, and Barrel Cosplay we had our teddy bear take the place of one of the trick or treaters.
Here we have Pelly dressed up as Yuki from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (Haruhi Suzumiya). Just like any other cosplayer he's got the complete outfit including a prop (a wand) and to be ready for photo shoots at anytime so don't forget to practice your poses.

Just becareful that your partner keeps track of his prop or he might easily lose it just like you might walk off after putting down your prop
Poor Pelly lost his wand

Birthday Cake Plushie
This was a present for a friend, I made an everlasting birthday cake for her. Although I couldn't get the number of candles correct it was still both both cuter this way and I dont think my friend wanted to be reminded how old she was turning.

Tip: If using glue instead of sewing, try to find a glue that dries soft. Don't use hot glue, because when it dries you will be able to feel clumps when squishing and hugging your cute little stuffie

My First Teddy
This is the first teddy bear I have ever made! Don't you just want to squeeze him?
Since I had never made a stuffed animal before, I used a store-bought pattern. I already had some fabric leftover from a nursing cover I made for a friend a couple of years ago, plus I had a ton of stuffing just taking up space in my closet.
I added the bow around his neck afterward but I think he might need something else... a bigger bow? A necktie? Bow tie? Scarf? Maybe he needs something more... geeky.
Oo I just had an idea! I bet I could make stuffed animals out of old T-shirts. I think I have some freebie Microsoft Windows T-shirts lying around somewhere that would look cute... perhaps as a bunny...

Swiss Roll
A Swill Roll cake. It's so yummy. Wait is that a thread?
Oh yea I guess we shouldn't eat it, since it's made from felt cloth.
I used my sewing machine as much as a could since I wanted something durable, but in the end I still had to close it up with old fashion hand stitching.

Green Onion Plush
I don't know why this one is so popular.
Anyways, I made this for a cosplay, KagaMiku (Cosplaying an anime character Kagami from LuckyStar who is cosplaying another character Miku from the Vocaloid series).
