Harley Quinn Mismatching Leggings

Quick trick to making Harley leggings.

Aquire two leggings or pantyhose of separate colours.  Snip down the center seam between the right and left legs and resew the opposite colour piece using a zig zag stitch.  The zig zag stitch will help keep the stretch.  Then you are ready to wear.  You can make two pairs with this method, which is great for when you get a run in your stockings

Two Leggins into One

For my Harley Quinn outfit of course it would be fab to have stockings with one leg red and one leg black, but I dont want to order a custom one, that would be expensive.

Let's experiment with making our own at the cost of regular stockings.  First I bought two sets of stockings one red and one black.  For the best results buy them from a matching brand/style.

Shove one stocking into the other so that the out sides of both stockings are facing one another.  Than sew 2 zig zap stitches down along each side of the middle seam.
1) The zig zap stitch will help keep it stretchy.
2) Each stitch will become the new inseams of the stockings.

Cut between the two stitches.  If you can cut out the original in seam go ahead and do so, it will be slightly more comfortable without the extra bunched fabric.

2012 Pax Prime Day 2 & 3 Cosplays

I decided to split up cosplay pictures into a separate blog posting since there were so many amazing outfits.

Isn't this baby adorable as the Marshmallow Guy from Ghost Busters Movie

Halo meets Captain America, pretty clever

Love the details

Loving the ColoUrs
Diablo 3 Mage
We've seen this girl before on the blog.  She was at SakuraCon with her Steampunk Mario Cosplay group.  But this time she has continued to enhance her outfit even more that I fell it love with it all over again.

The added a Donkey Kong this con to the Steampunk Mario group, and I thought his poses were accurate and hilarious.

This Wii and Xbox 360 couple was so cute.  I laughed when I noticed the Xbox was a white girl, and the Wii was an Asian girl.  Don't think they did it on purpose though.

Ok this outfit was just freaking cute.
Annie as Tibbers from League of Legends?

Love this guy for the way he did the makeup for his scars.  Need to study and practice this style.

Posion Ivy and Harley Quinn in War gear.  Pretty cool crossing themes.

Guardians Of Middle-Earth booth was giving out Gandalf hats.  I didn't want one since it would clash with my outfit, but the guy was very insistent.  I must admit, I do look pretty cute as a witch.

Kokeshi Drawings

Kokeshi are a wooden Japanese dolls .  They use to look a thinner and taller, but these are the more common versions now a days.

I wanted to do some drawings, becuase I thought they were quite cute

Here I was trying some different techniques with shading, and I ended up really liking the Flat Paper Doll look

So I continued to experiment with different characters

Euphemia from Code Geass
I tried playing with the outlining, and got some textures for the background to make it not complety boring

Voicaloid Rin and Len
Trying the paper shadowing again, and making my own texture, because I didn't feel like using other's people work for the textures all the time.  But to be honest, I think the background is rather ugly.

Inner Scouts from Sailor Moon

My favorite of the series.  Even though in the cartoon they mostly look like the same character with different colours and hair styles, following the manga instead gave me more variety to make the characters more unique.  At this point I like the simplicity of the background, doesn't distract from the characters.

Harley Quinn from Batman
Because not everyone is an anime fan, I did one of my favorite comic book characters.  I didn't know what I wanted to do for the background and was just going at random shapes.  Than using the colours of "Mr J" aka the Joker.  I ended up loving this combination, it really enhances Harley's connection with the Joker

Crafters In Disguise - SmallRiniLady and Ava
It's US, aint we cute

Cosplay Week #4 - Badges

Like a border on a picture, a sprinkle of sparkles on a fairy wand, the flutter of a dropping feather from flapping wings.  The little touches to a costume just make it all that more convincing that you are that character and not just a fanboy.

I have gone through many characters in which badges were a part of their being.

1) OS-Tan.  Windows Operating System Personas.  Being a Microsoft Employee I know what a MS Badge looks like so I was able to duplicate it and create a MS Badge for the OS Characters.  Being in the town of Microsoft, many employees recognized the badges as I walked past.  Even if they didn't know what character I was, they knew I had something to do with Microsoft.

2) Misato Katsuragi from Evangelion, I create a Nerv Badge for her to use to go in and out of the Command Center.  This design was pulled right out of the manga.

3) Harley Quinn in the Batman Arklam Asylum Video Game.  She steals the credentials from one of the employees so she can gain access into the Asylum.
